At Banzaan Market in Patong Beach, the ground floor is the market, selling seafood, meat, vegetables and fruits. The second floor is a food court, and if you give them the food you purchased on the first floor, they will cook it for you. You can choose your own seafood directly from a wide variety and number of varieties, and you can eat seafood cheaper than at a seafood restaurant on the beach. Why not try the giant lobster?

Location of Banzaan Market

Banzaan Market is located just outside of Jang Cylon. Go out the back door of Junk Ceylon (far from the beach), cross the road and you will find it on your left. The store is open from 7am-5pm. 1After 6pm, the square in front of the market becomes a night market venue. The atmosphere changes completely by day and night. Try to visit both during the day and at night.

Seafood, meat, vegetable and fruit market on the ground floor

The first floor is a market that sells seafood, meat, vegetables and fruits. Each of the small shops sells its own products.

There are many stores that specialize in fruit, and you can buy it here and bring it back to the hotel to eat afterwards. However, there are some fresh and some not so fresh, so be sure to examine them carefully before you buy. They are sold by the kg, which is a large quantity, but if you ask for it, you can also purchase it by specifying the weight.

They have a wide variety of vegetables, many of which I don’t know the names of. The prices are quite inexpensive, so if you are staying in a condo with a kitchen, you can buy vegetables here and enjoy cooking them.

Meat is sold in butchers’ shops, where it is hung up for sale. Prices are cheap, and you can save a lot of money on food if you get your food from the market. The market itself is very clean and is a great place to visit if you are going to stay for a long time.

There are many stores that carry seafood. I found the fish to be particularly cheap. Fish dishes are expensive at seafood restaurants, but you can enjoy seafood for a good price if you buy it on the first floor and have it cooked in the food court upstairs.

The food court on the second floor

The second floor is a food court, where you can order food from one of the 10+ restaurants you like. フThere is a reception desk at the entrance of the Food Court where you can purchase a card to be used in the Food Court. Just give your card the amount you want to charge and they will charge it. Cash is not accepted at each store, so charge your card at reception before ordering. If you have any left over, you can give your card to the receptionist for a refund. However, refunds are only available on that day.

Instead of ordering from just one restaurant, you can order what you want to eat from each one. The menu is lined up in front of the restaurant with pictures, so it’s easy to order by showing the menu and ordering.

They will also tell you the cooking charges when you order. When the food is ready, the waiter tells you out loud that it’s ready. They don’t give out vouchers, so wait as close to the restaurant as possible for your food to be ready. Give your card to the staff and pay the fee. In front of the restaurant, there are seasonings such as fish sauce and other ingredients available for you to use according to your preference.

The food is served at a table in the food court. You can eat at any table in the food court. Chopsticks and spoons are available in front of the restaurant.

The dish pictured below, made with crispy fried pork, was the best I’ve ever had. I just couldn’t remember the name of the dish so I can’t order it anymore.

Summary

The Bangsaan market is fun to just look around the market on the first floor, but the food in the food court is also good and cheap. However, prices have gone up over the past few years, probably due to the increase in tourists, and the number of locals has decreased. It’s still powerful to see Chinese tourists ordering food in large groups and putting large amounts of food on the table.

Banzaan Market is located right next to Jang Cylon, a large shopping mall, so it is easy to stop by when you are in Jang Cylon. It is a great place to stop by while you are out shopping.
